Patna: Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Bihar Legislative Assembly today demanded that a resolution be passed in the House against corruption and crime in the state. Leader of Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha, who started the assembly proceedings on Thursday, said that since the state is celebrating Bihar Day, a resolution should be passed in the assembly to make Bihar a corruption and crime-free state.
He alleged that many officials and leaders of the ruling party were facing corruption charges. Sinha said that on one hand the state government is working to implement the fourth agricultural roadmap, while corruption in various sectors including agriculture is at its peak. He said that on several occasions his party members raised the problems of the farmers.
Reading his adjournment motion with the permission of Speaker Avadh Bihari Chowdhary, BJP MLA Prem Kumar said that the contract workers have been demanding regularization of their services for the last 15 years. He said that the services of contract employees should be regularised.
