Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Explosion in Myanmar’s Sagaing area, 2 killed, 18 injured

Naypyidaw: Two people were killed and 18 others injured in twin blasts in Myanmar’s Sagaing region. Local media gave this information. Myanmar outlet Eleven Media reported that the explosions occurred in Shwebo city of Myanmar’s Sagaing region at around 03:30 GMT. The first blast occurred on a bridge over the Chindwin River and the second on a road north of the city. According to reports, a 60-year-old man and a three-year-old child were seriously injured in the blast and died in the hospital. Nine men, a 12-year-old boy and eight women were injured in the blasts, five of them seriously. According to the report, all the victims were local residents. The government said that the blasts were prepared and conducted by terrorists.
Remarkable In February 2021, the army came to power in Myanmar. Following a brutal crackdown on peaceful demonstrations by the military regime and police, the opposition resorted to armed struggle. Since then, detonations of landmines planted on roads have become a regular occurrence in some areas of the country. The head of Myanmar’s military government said on Monday that restoring peace and stability is the main goal of the armed forces and a key condition for handing over power to a civilian government.
