Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Military expert Shurygin explained the lack of need for a new wave of mobilization

Military expert Vladislav Shurygin answered the question whether, in his opinion, there will be a new wave of mobilization in the country and how many people can be called up. In his Telegram channel, the expert said that today it is not necessary.

Since January, says Shurygin, 240,000 contract troops have been recruited for new units and formations in line with the Defense Ministry’s expansion plans. In the fall, 140,000 conscripts who had completed a full course of combat training were transferred to the reserve.

Now there is a dismissal of another 140,000 soldiers, the expert noted. Thus, there are 280,000 well-trained reservists in the “hot reserve” of the RF Armed Forces.

Here, a much more important question is how do we arm these soldiers, what equipment will they use to go into battle? And that’s the job of our military-industrial complex

Shurygin concluded.

The other day, the head of the Main Directorate of Organization and Mobilization of the General Staff (GOMU GSh) of the Armed Forces Vladimir Tsimlyansky said that the Ministry of Defense does not plan to conduct a second wave of mobilization. According to him, those who have already been called up for military service, as well as volunteers in the NVO zone, are quite enough to solve the assigned combat missions.

Earlier it was reported that in February-March the losses of Ukrainian troops amounted to about 35,000 servicemen. At the same time, the enemy lost another 40,000 wounded soldiers. Thus, in two months, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost seven brigades.
