Taking into account the agreements with the President of Belarus, he explained, in April-May the site will finally be determined, where the terminal will be built, which will make it possible to send ships in any direction. After all, the year-round port of Murmansk, being one of the main ones in the Russian Federation, will also “turn the shoulder” for the export of goods from the fraternal republic.
The governor specified in this regard that “the icebreaking fleet, in particular, ensures the escort of ships even in difficult winter conditions”. Therefore, the prospects for cooperation between Belarus and the northern region of Russia, in his opinion, are very ambitious.
By the way, at present, according to Chibis, the trade turnover between the partners has increased sevenfold during the year. “We actively supply Belarus with apatite concentrate for the production of fertilizers, fish products. Since last year, we have been regularly delivering seafood specialties from the Murmansk region to Belarusian trading posts. For Belarus , fish quotas in the Barents Sea have also been increased to 4.5 thousand tons”, – said the head of the region.
Products of Belarusian machine builders were also well recommended among northerners. Three hundred BELAZ trucks are already operating in the region, ten more will be delivered this year. A service center of this automotive giant is also opening in the region. In addition, municipal equipment and Belarusian public transport successfully operate in the region.
