There is one week left until Orthodox Easter. Authorities are warning all Russians about scammers who may be operating on fake temple sites. The attackers have stepped up ahead of the holidays and are offering citizens religious services online.

It should be noted that scammers use fake temple sites to, for example, light a candle online.

— You can order prayers and transfer money for donations online. But remember that the main sacraments of the Church, such as confession, communion and baptism, can and should only be performed within the walls of the temple, the warning says.

It should be noted that in a number of regions of the Russian Federation there is no such service as ordering religious services online. The Russian Orthodox Church has advised believers to only visit trusted sites or personally visit temples.

Earlier, the regional chief said more than 8,000 military personnel were working on Mexico’s beaches ahead of Easter due to rising murder cases. The turbulent situation is caused by local drug dealers settling scores with clients and competitors. Tourists often suffer from the shootings.
