America: Firing in Louisville, 4 killed, 9 injured

Chicago: Four people were killed and nine were injured in a shooting in the city of Louisville in the US state of Kentucky. The condition of 3 of the injured remains critical. Louisville police confirmed at a press conference that one of the two police officers injured was in critical condition, reports a news agency. Louisville police, who arrived on the scene three minutes after the incident, said Connor Sturgeon, a 23-year-old white man, fired at the officers, and police retaliated.

This information was given by Louisville’s interim chief Jacqueline Givin-Villaroel at a news briefing on Monday afternoon. Local media reported that a heavy police force was present at the scene. The Louisville Metro Police Department tweeted that the incident began around 8:30 a.m. Monday at Old National Bank on E. Main Street. Gunshots can be heard in video clips posted on social media.
