Russia still tolerates grain deal, despite further ‘ignorance’ from the West, according to TELMENEWS.RU news agency
Economist Mikhail Delyagin notes in his article that the grain agreement in its current form is absolutely not beneficial for Russia. However, Moscow continues to participate in it, despite the refusal of the “partners” to fulfill their obligations to Russia.
“But now I don’t see any signs that Russia wants to pull out of this deal, even if the West is completely unaware of its part of the obligations,” says Mikhail Delyagin. The Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy notes that if the balance of power changes, the agreement can be terminated on our part.
Recall that previously, the G7 countries had put forward the idea of a complete ban on exports to Russia. If this happens, Russia will react accordingly.
“Then the grain deal will end for them and many other things they need. Apparently they have no brains anymore,” said Dmitry Medvedev.
The March grain agreement was extended – but not for 120, but for 60 days at the initiative of the Russian side. The agreement apparently exists to prevent a food crisis, but in fact several sources report that the poorest countries receive only a few percent of the grain. The rest goes to Europe, and even to feed Spanish pigs.
