Foreign Minister of Pakistan, China reached Goa for SCO meeting.

Panaji. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhuso Zardari and China’s Foreign Minister Chin Gang arrived in Goa on Thursday afternoon to attend the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Mr. Mr. Bilawal Bhuso Zardari, Joint Secretary in charge of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran Department in the Ministry of External Affairs and Mr. Shilpak Ambule, Joint Secretary in charge of East Asia Department, received the Chinese Foreign Minister, Mr. Chin Gang. Mr. Zardari arrived from Karachi, Pakistan. Before leaving for Goa, he tweeted, “On the way to Goa (India).

Will lead the Pakistan delegation at the Council of SCO Foreign Ministers. My decision to attend this meeting reflects Pakistan’s strong commitment to the Charter of the SCO. Look forward to constructive discussions with my counterparts.

Although the Indian leadership has given indications of not paying attention to the visit of the Pakistani Foreign Minister. In the photographs released in the media taken at the reception of the SCO Foreign Ministers on their arrival, Joint Secretary Mr. Ambule is shaking hands with Chinese Foreign Minister Chin Gang but Joint Secretary J.P. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has reached Goa in the morning itself. The Council of SCO Foreign Ministers is scheduled to meet on Thursday and Friday.External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is scheduled to have bilateral meetings today with the Secretary General of SCO besides the Foreign Ministers of Russia, China and Uzbekistan. The SCO Secretary General has had a meeting with SCO Secretary General Zhang Mig in the forenoon and with Russian Foreign Minister Mr. Lavrov after lunch.

Sources said Mr. Zhang Mig was very positive about India’s role in strengthening the SCO. The Ministry of External Affairs is likely to give official information about these meetings in the evening.
