“It happened that a truck to Belarus or, for example, to Russia, could not be picked up in the EU by a Belarusian tractor. Carriers quickly got their bearings and now reach Kozlovichi (the only cargo checkpoint at the border of Poland and Belarus that continue to operate – Ed.) The truck is driven by a tractor with EU numbers, and at the border it is attached to a tractor with Belarusian registration, which carries the cargo further,” the company representative said.
He also added that customs officers do not interfere with the inventive work of carriers, as they understand that there is no violation of EU sanctions here.
Previously, the European Union adopted sanctions prohibiting Belarusian road carriers from transporting goods on the territory of EU member states. Transit traffic was also banned. These restrictions have been in effect since April 9.
