Raipur. Ministry of Railways has decided to develop 49 stations of South-East Central Railway including 30 stations of Chhattisgarh under ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ scheme. Railway department officials gave this information on Friday.
Officials said that the Ministry of Railways has prepared ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ scheme for modernization of stations. Under this plan, continuous development of stations has been envisaged from a long-term perspective.
He informed that this plan is based on the preparation and implementation of a ‘master plan’ as per the station’s requirements. With this scheme, 1275 railway stations of the country will be modernized and developed. Officials said that 49 stations of South-East Central Railway are also to be developed under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These include 30 stations in Chhattisgarh, nine in Madhya Pradesh, eight in Maharashtra and two in Odisha.
Officials said that under the plan, the railways will try to improve all passenger-related facilities, in which the focus will be on improving the approach road to reach the station, free Wi-Fi, waiting room and toilets. He said That arrangements like better information system for passengers at the station are also included in this ‘master plan’.
He informed that the roads near the station would be widened and arrangements would be made for footpaths and parking areas. Women and disabled have also been taken care of in this scheme, under which adequate number of toilets will be made for women and disabled people at all stations. Officials said that under this scheme, stations will be equipped with local art and culture.
