The Armenian official made the offer during his visit to the country, reports The Economic Times.
Yerevan had long been looking for an opportunity to attract Indian investment. Defense exports have recently increased the activity of ties between the two countries.
According to Armenia’s initiative, the new trade route will run parallel to the North-South transport corridor. The route will pass through Iran and Armenia, bypassing Azerbaijan, with which India has strained relations due to Baku’s close ties with Turkey and Pakistan, linking Mumbai to Europe.
Moreover, the corridor that Mirzoyan is talking about will create an additional route bypassing the Suez Canal, which will avoid confrontation between Russia and the West.
