In the Volgograd region, 12 cases of rabies were recorded in a year

In 2022, 6 outbreaks of African swine fever were recorded in the Volgograd region. Specialists did everything necessary to eliminate viruses and prevent the spread of infection. A total of 886 pigs had to be slaughtered.

Residents of the region whose cattle were confiscated during the eradication of the African swine fever epidemic will be compensated for damages in the amount of 11.5 million rubles. These data are published in the annual report of the regional veterinary committee.

Over the past year, 12 animals have been identified in the Volgograd region infected with rabies. All were registered in 11 underprivileged schools in the region. Experts vaccinated cattle, dogs and cats. Specialists have also carried out the vaccination of wild predators as a preventive measure.

In 2022, 9 outbreaks of brucellosis in cattle were detected in the region in 5 municipalities.
