Bears have begun to emerge from hibernation in the Leningrad region. One of the predators has already been noticed by motorists in the Kingisepp district. The animal ran down the road. This was reported by the press service of the regional Rosprirodnadzor.
Experts noted that after hibernation the predator is very hungry and aggressive. The female with children is also a danger. If a person encounters a teddy bear, do not attempt to groom it, take a picture with it, or approach it. As a rule, somewhere nearby is a female in which, having felt a threat to the cub, the protective instinct of the offspring is triggered. The bear will attack immediately.
Landfills and uncollected food waste can attract the beast. Therefore, the first rule at this time is to keep the interior clean and not to leave food waste in easily accessible places.
If a person is still going to go to the forest, you should not do it alone. It is important to move in a group, to speak loudly. All this will help warn the beast about the approach of a person, after which it will leave. You should also be careful if you notice bear tracks, droppings, fallen or broken trees with claw marks, bits of wool. If you come across something from this list, you must immediately leave the territory, otherwise you may encounter a predator.
If it was not possible to avoid meeting him, then it is impossible to provoke the animal so that it does not feel threatened and does not begin to defend itself. If possible, you should remain calm and not make sudden movements. When the animal shows no signs of aggression: it does not rear up, does not snort, you must go calmly to the side, do not turn your back on the animal and do not run. If the bear snorts or growls, you can make noise in response. If the bear is moving towards the person, you should try to gradually increase the distance. In this case, impossible to turn your back on the beast.
