Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

In Russia, payments for needy students will be exempt from taxes

The State Duma of the Russian Federation has passed a law in the final reading according to which financial assistance for needy students is exempt from taxes, writes the TASS agency.

In addition, the law provides tax incentives for educational institutions in the Sirius Federal Territory.

As stated in the explanatory note to the document, material support for needy students is a targeted payment, intended to help them solve a difficult life situation. Source deductions reduce the amount of the remittance, which reduces its effectiveness for the student.

The established standards will come into force on January 1, 2024.
