Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Almost 900 attacks on Muslims in Germany in 2019

According to a report, 871 attacks were carried out in Germany last year

In the attack on the synagogue in Halle on October 9, 2019, two people were killed for anti-Islamic motives. The kidnapper had shot her at a kebab snack bar after unsuccessfully trying to break into the synagogue. 33 Muslims were reportedly injured in Islamophobic attacks in 2019.

The total number of attacks has remained constant since 2017, it said. “The hatred of Muslims continues to break out in violent attacks, threats, and insults,” said Jelpke. Even if the police have been taking action against right-wing extremist terror cells since the acts in Halle and most recently in Hanau, the all-clear cannot be given. “Unfortunately, we have to expect that there will be more such ticking time bombs,” said the left-wing politician.
