Werder’s managing director praises solidarity in professional football

Bremen – Werder Bremen’s managing director Klaus Filbry praised the solidarity between the professional clubs after the virtual general meeting of the German Football League.

“In the crisis, everyone moves closer together. I would describe the situation as physical distancing but social proximity, “said Filby. “The clubs give each other advice. Many topics are discussed and we speak with one voice because ultimately all clubs are faced with the circumstances in different ways. ”

The 36 professional clubs and the league had decided to suspend game operations until April 30. In addition, some catalogs of measures to combat the corona crisis have been adopted. Because of the pandemic, the meeting did not take place in Frankfurt am Main as usual, but via video conference.

Filby sees professional football in a difficult phase. “The situation is very serious and the next time will be tough for all Bundesliga clubs,” said Filby. But he was confident that Werder would master the crisis.
