Los Angeles (TEH) – US star moderator Oprah Winfrey (65) has announced that she will provide $ 10 million for corona relief efforts.
“I donate to help Americans during this pandemic in cities, across the country, and in areas where I grew up,” she wrote on Twitter on Thursday.
If there is a crisis and the most vulnerable in society are concerned, think of her childhood. “I still remember when I grew up in Milwaukee with my mother and we needed social support,” Winfrey said in a video released on Apple TV. Sometimes they only needed help to survive.
The presenter also donates a million dollars to America’s Food Fund. According to her, it was founded by actor Leonardo DiCaprio (45), among others.
By Thursday, more than 236,000 infections were detected in the United States, according to Johns Hopkins University. That is the most cases per country worldwide. Almost 6000 people died there as a result of the coronavirus.
