ODENWALDKREIS – In the Odenwaldkreis, a suspected case of coronavirus infection has been confirmed in a fourth old people’s home. This further exacerbates the regional burden of the pandemic consequences, in that a large number of deaths and the heavy use of the Erbach health centre are primarily due to the spread of the infection in three nursing homes.
Such facilities are considered susceptible to the transmission of the disease, which then inevitably affects the elderly who are at risk of a severe course. In the old people’s home now affected, a resident was tested positive for the virus. The operator and the Odenwaldkreis reacted and placed the house in quarantine, as the district administration confirmed on request.
Additional measures have already been taken, said the organization that runs the home. The responsible parties coordinate closely with the authorities. In addition to additional protective clothing, breathing masks and disposable gloves for employees, the pandemic plan is also in effect. The situation is monitored site by those responsible in close consultation with the authorities. All information comes together in one place in order to be able to react quickly to new situations.
