Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

3rd league wants to close the season

Frankfurt / Main – Despite the ongoing Corona crisis, the season in the 3rd soccer league will not be stopped for the time being and should be played to the end if possible.

The German Football Association, the 3rd league committee and those responsible for the 20 clubs agreed on this at an extraordinary management conference on Thursday.

At a video conference, the participants exchanged “intensive and critical discourse on possible further action in the third division”, the DFB said. With the goal of completing the 2019/20 season, the official basis for disposal is crucial.

There is agreement among all clubs that further decisions and measures for the 3rd division must be made on this basis. A possible resumption of the game operations currently suspended until April 30th should not be at the expense of the general public and health protection.

In view of the current situation, various scenarios are conceivable as to how the remaining eleven match days in the third-highest division can still be completed. «A specification is not yet possible. Further measures will only be initiated as soon as there are changes in governmental orders and health requirements, »the DFB announcement said. All clubs had signaled their willingness to actively participate in the development and implementation of solutions for the further game operation.
