G2 beats Origen in European LoL league playoffs

Berlin – G2 Esports has found its rhythm again: With a 3-1 win against Origen, the defending champion of the European League of Legends league LEC is on the way to the final of the playoffs.

Despite the victory, G2’s German coach Fabian «Grabbz» Lohmann was not satisfied. “We could have played much better,” he said in an interview on the LEC stream. «But it was an improvement. We have implemented a lot of what we have been working on this week. »

The week before, the LEC defenders were surprisingly beaten by the newcomer team MAD Lions. There was criticism, in particular, of Bot-Laner Rasmus “Caps” Winther, who came back loudly this week, among other things with a five-fold elimination and an all-around strong performance. “Caps deserved it after criticism last week,” Grabbz said.

“Each of us makes individual mistakes,” said G2s Jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski after the game. “We all have to get better – individually and at the team level.”

After the victory against Origen, the revenge against MAD Lions is waiting in the semifinals, which was previously crushed by Fnatic with 3: 0. The winner of this game then moves into the final against Fnatic, who showed a convincing performance in his playoff games.

Because of the corona pandemic, the LEC playoffs will be held entirely online. The winners of the spring season qualify for the mid-season invitational, which will be held during the summer season this year due to delays in the regional leagues.
