The government plans to announce this week which restrictions will be listed first. Quarantine remains a requirement for returnees.
The Polish government wants to decide by Thursday which corona restrictions will be lifted and when. The government only has 7049 people infected, but experts believe that fewer tests will result in up to four times more. The exit restrictions are among the most extensive in Europe: only going to work and the grocery store are permitted, parks and boulevards are closed. Even access to state forests (a quarter of the country’s territory) is prohibited. As of April 19, Poland wanted to “slowly thaw the economy,” announced Health Minister Łukasz Szumowski.
It is not yet clear what that should look like: some stores are likely to be allowed to reopen; you also have to wear masks in public from Thursday. It is not yet certain whether school lessons will start again after April 26th. All flights and international train connections will be canceled until May 3rd. The borders are only open to Poles and foreigners returning by car and bus with a residence permit; 14 days home quarantine are then mandatory.
