BENSHEIM – A 41-year-old woman died on Saturday while swimming in the bathing lake on the Berliner Ring in Bensheim. The woman went to the lake for a swim around 3 p.m. while her companions went shopping, the police in Darmstadt said.
When the group returned, the woman’s clothes were still on the beach, but there was no sign of her. Alarmed rescue workers could only rescue the woman dead from the lake.
The criminal police of the police headquarters in South Hesse has started the investigation. The cause of death was initially unknown.
