“Football does a professional job in a crisis”

Frankfurt / Main – Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports director Fredi Bobic sees the Bundesliga well on track to continue the season despite the coronavirus pandemic.

In an interview with the specialist magazine “Kicker”, he also praised the work of the German Football League (DFL) and its boss Christian Seifert. «Overall, a package is being worked out on how games without viewers can look. The league is doing a top job with Christian Seifert at the top, »said the 48-year-old. «What needs to be considered when organizing? How many people can participate in total? The medical task force is also doing a good job in the background. »

It would find its own creative ways “that have nothing to do with special treatment of football,” said the former international. They work on their own structures without burdening anyone. «If the package is expected to be ready this week, it will become clear that football did a very professional job in the crisis. Many other associations are having a hard time with it. »

The bosses of the 18 national and two-division teams team up with the DFL on April 23 to discuss how to proceed. Game operations are currently at least until April 30th.
