India: One person was shot dead at Rongapa of Sonitpur district, Assam

One person was shot dead by May 12th night in front of his own residence by an unidentified extremist at 4 no Geruwajuli gaon under Rongapa police station of Sonitpur district.

According to the sources, the name of the dead person was Moni Basumotari. The wife of the dead person told The Eastern Herald that the incident was held around 10.30 pm at night when the deceased was drunk.

The local magistrate of the Rongapara Dr. Khirud Kamal Hazarika visited the place and investigated the matter himself. Alternately the Rongapara police also registered a case and promised to investigate the matter. The police have not made any arrests so far.
