New York Stock Exchange witnesses highest Nasdaq index jump in 2020

Wall Street stock indices picked up the trend today. When markets closed west, the Nasdaq index had never been higher. The S&P 500 index, at the same time, managed to wipe out the decline it had experienced during the year.

Belief in the US’ ability to return from the temporary crisis caused by the virus appears to have pushed the Nasdaq index more than a hundred points higher than its previous peak in February.

At the same time, the Dow Jones index rose 1.1 percent.

Companies that badly touched the assembly line continued to drive up the day. United Airlines thus rose by 14.8% and American Airlines by 9.3%, after both announced that they saw the increase in bookings.
