Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Armed aggression between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Washington mediates

The United States of America condemned the clashes on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia and called on both sides to go to peaceful roads.

This came in a statement issued by the US State Department after Armenia’s attempt to launch an attack on Azerbaijan with artillery shells.

The statement condemned in the strongest terms the clashes between the two sides, and said: “We want the two sides to stop the use of violence directly, and to comply with the ceasefire through direct communication between them in order to prevent the escalation of violence further.”

The statement stressed that the United States, as co-chair of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, is determined to help find a peaceful solution to the issue of Karabakh (the Azerbaijani occupied by Armenia).

On Sunday, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced the registration of an Armenian army assault with artillery, targeting its forces in the border area of Tuvuz.
