Losses of Ukrenergo – the Ministry of Finance predicts an increase in losses of the state company until 2023 to UAH 26 billion

According to the forecasts of the Ministry of Finance, in the next three years – from 2020 to 2023 inclusive – the losses of NEC Ukrenergo will exceed UAH 26 billion. About it says in the report on fiscal risks of the Ministry of Finance, which was prepared for the draft state budget for 2021.

It is expected that in 2020 NEC’s losses will exceed UAH 15.1 billion, in 2021 – UAH 3.5 billion, in 2022 – UAH 4.6 billion, and in 2023 – UAH 3.1 billion.

The department is considering three scenarios – baseline, stressful and optimistic. Regardless of the scenarios considered in the model, in 2020 Ukrenergo expects unprofitable operations. The optimistic scenario assumes making a profit in 2021-2023.

In addition, according to forecasts Ministry of Finance, in the next four years, the losses of the Naftogaz group will exceed UAH 21 billion.
