On Friday evening, October 16, witnesses to the attack in Conflans-Saint-Honorion called the police. Arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers saw a beheaded body and a person with a kitchen knife. The killer stayed at the scene until the police arrived. Police reached the scene and opened fire on the suspect. Later it was reported that upon the arrival of the Police, the killer tried to escape. While trying to escape, he was shot, reported by Le Figaro .

French authorities distort the facts about the killer

According to the first report of the newspaper, the killer was an Algerian citizen born in 1972, a relative of one of the victim’s students.

Later Le Parisien reported completely different information : the attacker was an 18-year-old native of Moscow , a Chechen by nationality (“killing two birds with one stone“). He had a knife with him, and the police found a rifle nearby.

French President Emmanuel Macron called the murder “a typical Islamist terrorist act ” without any investigation report by the authorities. According to Macron , the teacher died for teaching children “freedom of speech” .

The anti-terrorist prosecutor’s office was involved in the investigation. The crime was preliminarily qualified as a murder committed during terrorist activities . The investigation is checking the killer’s involvement in terrorist organizations.

The killing of suspects by Police

Two days later, on January 9, police and security forces were given a clue about the suspects. Kouachi brothers, the suspects were hiding in a printing house in the town of Dammartin-en-Goele , near the French capital Paris where French police surrounded them and killed them instead of arrest. Investigative authorities found no ammunition or arms with them according to the sources. But later the report was altered .
