The secret love affair between two Pakistani political elites; Bilawal Bhutto and Hina Rabbani Khar came to the knowledge of Asif Ali Zardari when the duo was caught in a compromised position inside the official residence of the President.
The influence of Pakistani ISI is very strong when it comes to plotting attacks, kidnappings, bomb blasts, and killing within Pakistan and other countries too. One such case was noticed when a famous journalist from Bangladesh was arrested by Bangladeshi authorities in the year 2012. The arrest of Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury was a plot constructed and instructed by the then Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Ahmad Shuja Pasha at the request of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury who is the editor of the Bangladeshi tabloid Weekly Blitz exposed the intimate relationship between the then Foreign Minister of Pakistan Hina Rabbani and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, a son of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto and former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and grandson of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
This romantic relationship between Hina Rabbani and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari got in flames when the Weekly Blitz published the story and exposed the intimacy between the two secret lovers in Pakistan. It is highly unacceptable for an Islamist country like Pakistan to accept such cute, lovely, and romantic relations between two attractive individuals Bilawal and Hina in Pakistani society.
President Zardari did not want his son to marry a married woman with two children. President Zardari used Government machinery to dissuade Hina’s husband too. Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani was not expecting all this coming from the President of the country just because she loves his son.

The then Chief of ISI, Lieutenant General Ahmad Shuja Pasha was given unofficial orders by the President of the Islamic Republic to find the culprit who tarnished the political image of Bilawal Zardari, his son. Genl. Pasha, in no time, found the man who exposed Hina-Bilawal’s love affair.
Ahmad Shuja Pasha
In 2011 and 2012, ISI Chief Pasha, certainly, had some very influential connections inside the Bangladesh embassy in Pakistan. The very next day the editor of Weekly Blitz was arrested in a baseless case on the instructions given by some foreign diplomat. Certainly, the ISI chief had some very powerful and strong connections in the Bangladesh Embassy in Pakistan.
The case was a strong scoop for Indian media too. But, the Indian media did not pay much attention to the issue, and in a day the story vanished. Today, this is the same Hina Rabbani who attacked India saying, “India is now becoming the bully for the entire region and it’s going against every international commitment… Rogue state.”
This love affair was so important for Pakistan that the ISI had to deny its involvement in the defamation of both love birds. It is noted here that ISI Pakistan was also in question about giving the media the scoop about this high-profile love affair between Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and the son of Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari.
Hina Rabbani’s husband has reportedly inquired the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority about the two numbers he found in Hina Rabbani’s cellphone. He was doubtful about his wife, and he said in a statement that he knew about this affair but never spoke of it.
India played a very important role in the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan’s rule. It was Mukti Bahini was formed with the help of Indian defense forces. The then Prime Minister of India, Mrs. Indira Gandhi supported this operation wholeheartedly.
The Pakistani intelligence who was in support of the political will of President Zardari ordered the immediate arrest of the Editor of the Bangladeshi tabloid the Weekly Blitz. ISI Chief Ahmad Pasha was worried about the exposure of more information and hence wanted to get rid of Mr. Salah Uddin. Instead of investigating the matter, the ISI agitated against it and in fact, moved forward and pressurized the Bangladesh government to take strict action against the investigative journalist who brought this story into the public eyes and the Bangladesh government followed.
The role of the Bangladesh government was very mean too. They did not just follow what they were dictated by the Pakistani ISI but they moved ahead and plotted another conspiracy against Bangladesh tabloid The Weekly Blitz and its editor Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury. The plot was so hazardous that gradually Jamaat-e-Islami took the control of the operation against the Weekly Blitz and then a terrorist attack on the Weekly Blitz office. The office blew in ashes but no casualty was recorded. A notorious Islamist group, Jamaat-e-Islami that is funded by difficult dangerous groups around the globe. Jamaat-e-Islami has very serious connections with Al-Shabaab, Daesh (ISIS), and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Pranab Mukherjee, a senior Congress leader in India was a close friend of Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She called Pranab Mukherjee a “True Friend ” and said that “he was always been highly revered and loved by the people of Bangladesh.”
“In 2013, in recognition of this luminary, the government of Bangladesh conferred on him ‘Bangladesh Muktijuddho Sommanona’ (Liberation War Honour) for his valuable contribution to Bangladesh’s Liberation War of 1971,” the PM of Bangladesh said.
Mr. Pranab Mukherjee was a good friend of Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto too. Their friendship is very famous among these three nations.
“Mrs. Bhutto was a brave and outstanding woman leader of the sub-continent and that she should fall to a barbaric terrorist act, is particularly tragic”, Mr. Mukherjee said on the death of Benazir Bhutto- his old friend and mother of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Mr. Mukherjee was a connection between Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan. There is a fair possibility that he is involved in many matters concerning Bangladesh and Pakistan.
It is not a surprise that some top diplomats is involved in the process of suppressing the story like Bilawal and Hina. Bilawal who is the son of Mrs. Benazir Bhutto Zardari found his refuge with some old friends of his mother.
The involvement of ISI, in this case, was so strong that even the Indian media did not give this story any importance. The influence was so strong in Bangladesh that Mr. Salah Uddin Shoaib had to face treason and blasphemy charges in the courts of Bangladesh. He was not pleaded guilty but the Bangladeshi Court was forced to convict Mr. Choudhury without any substance in the case and later was sent to jail for six years. He remained in jail for more than six years and then the US government had to interfere in the matter. The US Congress passed a resolution in favour of Mr. Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury. The international pressure on Bangladesh government was at peak due to this plot against this pro-Israel senior journalist. They finally released him but the Jamaat-e-Islami started haunting the courage of Mr. Choudhury. The ISI chief Genl. Shuja Pasha wanted to make sure that Weekly Blitz editor is sent to prison before the 2012 visit of Hina Rabbani Khan to Bangladesh, as the Pakistani spy agency was afraid, Weekly Blitz would disclose more facts about the Hina-Bilawal romance, putting Islamabad into highest discomfort.
Pro-Congress media in India remained silent on the issue and started misleading its readers and viewers. They portrayed and diverted the story, maybe, due to some political pressure in the country. Mainstream Indian media ignored the facts. Rather than investigating and digging deep into this high-profile love story which may tarnish Pakistan’s image internationally, they remained silent and some said the story was fake and a plot.
Pakistan is always involved in tactics against freedom of the press and religion. Pakistan is a failed state and is infamous for its persecution of its minorities. Asia Bibi case is a well-known blasphemy case in Pakistan among many others.
Persecution of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Pakistan is a state-sponsored act. The state of Pakistan declared the Ahmadiyyas a not-Muslim community during the rule of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in Pakistan. Zulfiqar is the father of Benazir Bhutto who later became the Prime Minister of Pakistan and was alleged to have been assassinated in a conspiracy by his husband Asif Ali Zardari. Asif Ali Zardari later became the president of Pakistan.
Journalism summons the dedication toward truth without inclination toward any political party. Sensitive stories like Bilawal-Hina should have received much attention in India if the media houses just followed their instinct.
The number of human rights violations against journalists is at its peak during this era of autocratic politics. The Eastern Herald will always remain audacious in favor of journalists like Mr. Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury who always fight the evil forces, radicalism, and terrorism in society.
