One-third of those treated for coronavirus had to be taken to the hospital again after five months. One in eight people died due to a health complication due to the infection, according to a study by the British University of Leicester and official statistics.
Of the 47,780 people who were discharged from a hospital in the UK, 29.4 percent had to go to the hospital again after 140 days. Of that number, 13.3 percent died.
Many people who have had a long-term effect of the coronavirus have health problems with the heart, diabetes, liver, and kidneys, research has shown.
– People leave the hospital, have long-term consequences of the coronavirus, return to the hospital, and die. We see that this was the case with 30 percent of people, and that’s a lot. The numbers are really big – said the author of the study, Kamlesh Kunti.
