Arab civil society: tendentious campaigns against Saudi Arabia… and the “CIA report” without evidence

The Editors of Gulf newspapers, Arab media institutions, opinion leaders, civil society leaders, academicians, and parliamentary figures, yesterday (Sunday), during their “virtual” participation in the “Saudi Arabia, the Great House of Arabs ” forum, denounced the poisonous and nasty campaign that the Kingdom is exposed to, trying to undermine its sovereignty after the report.

Participants in the forum organized by the Bahraini newspaper, Al-Bilad yesterday, affirmed their eagerness to enhance cooperation and close relations between the Arab Gulf states and the United States of America, expressing their full solidarity with the Kingdom and their appreciation for its role as the Great House of Arabs, as it established through its work for many decades the values of justice and equality in society. Emphasizing their high confidence in the Saudi judiciary, which dealt with the heinous crime of killing the Saudi citizen Jamal Khashoggi – may God have mercy on him – with full transparency, fairness, and justice.

The participants appreciated the important role the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays in enhancing and supporting international peace and security, combating terrorist and extremist ideas and groups, and extinguishing the hand of terrorism wherever it goes.

They noted with appreciation the great efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in achieving development and prosperity in the Kingdom, in supporting the Arab brothers and the Islamic nation, and in achieving development, prosperity, and growth in the countries of the region and the world as a whole.

The participants expressed their full support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to ensure its national and sovereign security, and to stop all malicious and irresponsible campaigns aimed at undermining its national unity, its symbols, and its wise leadership.

The head of the Gulf Press Union, the head of the Saudi Journalists Association, the editor-in-chief of the Saudi Al-Jazirah newspaper, Khaled Al-Malik said: “The Saudi-American relationship is a strategic relationship with roots in history, built by parents King Abdulaziz and President Roosevelt, and this relationship extended from after them to the son-in-law leaders in the two countries, and with it unprecedented cooperation. And interests diversified to an unparalleled level with another country.

He added: “The House of Arab Forum comes as a fraternal and courageous initiative to support the Kingdom’s position on the unjust US intelligence report regarding the killing of colleague Jamal Khashoggi, may God have mercy on him, and to confirm the relations between Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf states with the United States of America as an ally and partner in all stages. And with which US president is elected .

He continued: “The Kingdom rejected, in a clear and explicit statement, what was stated in the US intelligence statement about the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, because it was devoid of any evidence or facts, and he relied on false and unrealistic conclusions, bypassing the just judgments reached by the judiciary of Saudi Arabia who accused culprits based on facts and evidence, what made the Khashoggi family welcome them and consider them fair, just and acceptable judgments .

For his part, the head of the Union of Arab Media and Creative People, Ahmed Nour, explained that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was built on justice, tolerance, acceptance of others, and moderation, and this is the most important media message that should reach the West. The editor-in-chief of Al-Bilad newspaper Mu’nis Al-Mardi said: “Today we are meeting at a hypothetical table to register a position against a black campaign on a misdemeanor report on credibility and fairness and includes accusations sent without evidence, and this campaign is not the first that the Big House of Arabs receives, hence the Albilad initiative. “The move this time is different from each time, that it be from the base, and that it includes the Gulf press, pen-bearers, and front-line newspaper officials in institutions so that we can record a common message with a clear voice.”

The Secretary-General of the Arab Media Forum, Madi Al Khamees, pointed out that the Kingdom’s stances towards the world are great and are the subject of pride and appreciation of all.

The Eastern Herald will always fight against such kind of nasty agenda of western media. We are India’s first international news journal and our motto is the protection of human rights as well. The report published by the CIA on Jamal Khashoggi’s murder mystery is no surprise for us. In very recent history the American Intelligence accused Saddam Hossein too. We really appreciate what crown prince MBS of Saudi Arabia had done in the past and hence we support the vision of prince Mohammed bin Salman towards the achievement of peace in the world,” commented Muzaffar Ahmad Noori Bajwa, the editor-in-chief of The Eastern Herald newspaper.

For his part, the head of the Emirates Journalists Association, the former editor-in-chief of Al-Ru’ya newspaper, Muhammad Al-Hammadi, stressed that the current situation does not concern Saudi Arabia alone, but rather the countries of the region as a whole. He noted, “Support for Saudi Arabia is constant and continuous, and we, as media professionals, agree on the ugliness of the crime that occurred to Khashoggi, and at the same time, we affirm the integrity of the Saudi judiciary, which we expected that the West would respect its rulings that were clear and fair to those who committed this crime.”
