Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Aliyev announced the last warning to Armenia due to the shelling of of the FSB of the Russian Federation

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has issued a final warning to Armenia in connection with the shooting in the border areas. According to the Azerbaijani leader, the recent incident in the area of the Seyidlyar village of the Zangilan region should be the last.

Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan did not react to the incident and showed restraint, but this should not continue.

Earlier, the border service of Azerbaijan said that units of the state border service and the border service of the FSB of Russia were fired at in the Zangilan region. The Armenian side denied this information.

Russian (peacekeeper) forces were deployed along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border following the conclusion of the Azerbaijani army’s autumn military campaign against the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), Artsakh, which was not recognized even by Yerevan. The hostilities lasted from September to November and ended with the defeat of the NKR forces. The Armenian army did not take full-scale participation in the hostilities. Russian peacekeepers are deployed in the region to prevent conflicts during the demarcation of the new border.
