Earthquake hits central California

The Geological Survey confirmed that an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 struck the central region of the US state of California, on Thursday, according to Reuters.

According to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the depth of the earthquake was 10 km.

The epicenter of the earthquake was about 240 km from the city of Sacramento.

The magnitude of the smaller earthquakes ranged between 3.1 and 4.2 Richter.

The network indicated that the largest earthquake hit the southern region of “Topaz Lake” near the border of Nevada with California.
