UEFA EURO 2020: Leonardo Bonucci said “Once again we treated the English badly”

Leonardo Bonucci, the player of the Italian national football team, was very happy when he spoke to Italy’s RAI Sports television after the final match of the European Championship against England at Wembley tonight. Italy won on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

“It was great to see 58,000 people leave the area before we got the trophy. Now he’s coming home to Rome! They thought he would stay in London, but once again we treated them badly,” said Leonardo Bonucci, who equalized for Italy in the second half after Luke Shaw crossed for England early in the game.

“When we met in Sardinia before the tournament, we found that it was different than often before. Slowly, we gained more confidence. It was great to win this competition and now we are legends,” Bonucci added.
