Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Abazović from Kiev: We have made Montenegro an important diplomatic player in the world

The biggest battle in the whole world is being fought here today, and we have shown that small Montenegro can be a predecessor of important initiatives, said the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazović, in a statement for the Montenegrin media in Kiev.

–  Today we had a very successful day in Kiev. We met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Rama and Abazovic left for Ukraine on Tuesday, while in the early hours of this Wednesday morning they arrived in the capital. They first traveled to Poland, and from there by train to the heart of Ukraine, Albanian Daily reported .

We have done our job and duty in the best possible way. We came here to express the position of Montenegro – said Abazovic.

According to him, it means a lot to Ukraine, even more than we think.

–  Regardless of the fact that everyone knows that our capacities are not too big, but in the face of visits in the coming days, this approach of the Western Balkan countries and NATO members is something new – Abazović added.

He said that Montenegro is in full solidarity with Ukraine , “and that we have shown that we have no political greed in terms of their potential candidacy for EU membership.”

–  Of course, we support and think that they are defending European values and Europe from what could be an averse breakthrough. That is something positive for them and for us and the members of the EU – Abazović pointed out.

He said that we have great gratitude and understanding on their part.

–  They fully understand our position regarding sanctions and other things such as military and financial assistance, which cannot be great. We agreed on one thing – if we help each other and show solidarity, the overall result can be higher than if we all look solely at our own interests. This is the moment when we are fighting for democratic principles. Today, we have made Montenegro an important diplomatic player in the world – concluded Abazović.
