With an improvised gun, Tetsuya Yamagami kills Shinzo Abe, the former Japanese prime minister

Shinzo Abe, the former Japanese prime minister, died in hospital after being shot at a campaign rally in the city of Nara .

Two shots were fired at Abe, and the second shot hit him in the back, after which he fell to the ground. 41-year-old Tetsuya Yamagami , who carried out the assassination, was immediately arrested, reports REUTERS .

Explosives were also found during the search of the attacker’s house, according to unofficial information reported by the local media.

He will be charged with murder, and the gun he used to commit the attack has been confiscated. It is a homemade gun that the assassin made himself. Witnesses said they saw a large gun.
