The appearance of the 101st Airborne Division of the US Ground Forces near the border with Ukraine in Romania could cause a serious aggravation in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, in which NATO countries will be involved. This was stated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, TANJUG agency reports.
“We are approaching what I called the perfect storm at the last meeting. (…) It is enough to look at the forces with which Russia is currently entering Ukraine. When you see that the Americans sent their best unit, (…) brought to Romania, a few kilometers from the border with Ukraine, then it will become clear to you what awaits us, whether it will come to a direct clash or not, ”Vučić said, noting at the same time, there are practically no prospects that the parties will be able to agree without starting a new round of escalation, which could lead to unpredictable consequences.
“And it is clear to me how this will develop further and how it will affect our country,” the politician said.
Earlier, the CBS channel informed that the 101st airborne division “Screaming Eagles” was transferred to Romania – allegedly to participate in the exercises. Its commander also stated that his fighters were ready to enter Ukraine on orders. Meanwhile, the White House does not tire of repeating that the Americans will not participate in hostilities.

The 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles” is a light infantry unit with a total strength of 4.7 thousand soldiers and officers. According to experts, the American grouping itself does not pose too much danger to Russian troops in Ukraine, the precedent is much more dangerous when no one can hold back the flywheel of war.
