Under the chairmanship of the mayor of Bishkek, Emilbek Abdykadyrov, another meeting of the special interdepartmental commission on air pollution was held in the capital municipality.

The mayor presented a plan of measures to solve the problems affecting air quality in the capital.

The press service of the mayor’s office notes that medium-term measures are those that must be implemented by 2025, and long-term plans are those that are implemented in the period from 2025 to 2050.

In 2023, it is planned to gasify 5 housing estates and introduce alternative heating sources, including heat pumps, with the conversion of all municipal coal boilers to gas and other alternative heat sources.

The issue of increasing imports of high-calorie Kazakh coal for consumers in Bishkek was also discussed, with a restriction on burning “Kara-Keche” coal in Bishkek during the upcoming heating season.

In order to reduce the number of private coal baths, it is necessary to build 12 municipal baths in residential areas.

It is planned to start the construction of a waste treatment plant. It is necessary to purchase 500 units of ecological public transport.

The proposed measure is to increase the number of eco-fueled public transport to 1500 units and to create a dedicated lane for public transport and taxis.

Committee members discussed the proposal to check vehicles for compliance with environmental standards, including the need for catalysts.

It is planned to implement the investment project for the purchase of 500 units of monochrome electric taxis.

The plan includes the implementation of the greening project of the city of Bishkek, increasing the area of ​​the park to 21.6 hectares and the construction of “green corridors” with the planting of trees.

Development of the general plan of the city of Bishkek and the introduction of proposals for the expansion of the territory of the capital at the expense of the Chui region.

The medium-term action plan includes the purchase of 1,000 units of ecological public transport by 2025 in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic. Also considered is the issue of allocating additional funds for the development of pedestrian and cycling infrastructure (development of the coastal lines of the Ala-Archa, Alamudun, BCHK).

Issues raised on the railway route outside the city, the regulation of the construction of multi-apartment houses, the maintenance of road and transport nodes, the expansion and opening of roads in order to reduce traffic congestion.

In addition, it is proposed to move the market, bus station and utility facilities located in the central part of the city of Bishkek to the outskirts of the city, that is, to places where people gather. people and transport. Also, the restoration of TPP-2 is the Ministry of Energy.
