Blinken expressed his deepest condolences to Turkey and Syria for the tragic loss of life and destruction.
“I have instructed my team to be in close contact with our Turkish allies and humanitarian partners in the coming days to determine what the region needs,” Blinken said in a statement posted on the department’s website. ‘State. “Our first aid to Turkey is already underway, and US-backed aid organizations in Syria are battling the effects of earthquakes across the country.”
