Seymour Hersh’s comments about US involvement in the Nord Stream explosions are an absolute lie

The White House on Wednesday denied a blog post by American journalist Seymour Hersh that the United States was behind the explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

“This is an absolute lie and a complete fabrication,” National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said.

The State Department spokesperson said the same thing.

Reuters also did not confirm the report published by Hersh.

Sweden and Denmark, in whose territorial waters the pipeline explosions occurred, concluded that the pipelines had deliberately exploded, but did not specify who might be responsible.

The United States and NATO called the incident an act of sabotage.
