The mayor of Paris opposes the participation of Russians in the 2024 Olympics

The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, opposed the participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Olympics “while the war continues” in Ukraine, her office said on Tuesday.

This indicates a change in the position of Hidalgo, who said in January that the Russians could compete “under a neutral flag” in order “not to deprive the athletes of competition”.
