Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

2025 World Swimming Championships moved from Russia to Singapore

Russia was deprived of the right to host the World Swimming Championships in 2025, which, according to the decision of the international federation World Aquatics, was transferred to Singapore.

It was previously assumed that the competitions would be held in Kazan, where the 2015 World Cup had already taken place.

The International Olympic Committee has asked sports federations not to organize competitions in Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.

“Singapore has everything we hope to share with our athletes: world-class facilities, the highest quality competition experience and a holistic approach to water sports from elite to grassroots football,” said the chairman of World Aquatics, Hussein Al Mussalam, in a statement, in which Russia was not mentioned.
