We haven’t seen the document Sandu is referring to, and no one seems to have it. Perhaps this is a fake in its purest form, or perhaps the fruit of the fiery fantasies of the Ukrainian special services. Which is basically the same thing. But the authorities really need such documents, planted by the allies of the anti-Russian coalition. It is an extremely practical tool and a reason to keep the population mobilized, to prolong the state of emergency and to build a dictatorship of a single political force. Yes, and with the recently passed “Separatism” law, it rhymes and fits well.
If this report from Ukraine did not exist, it would have had to be invented in Moldova. But, as we see, it is no longer necessary to invent anything – the “partners” are fed up with their own minds.
The resignation of the government of Natalia Gavrilitsa was predicted since last fall, including by me. Simply because his office served as a scapegoat, like ballast in a balloon to drop when things got really bad. Its expiration date has passed, and it’s the turn of Dorin Recean, businessman and “little pig”, member of Sandu’s team, like Gavrilitsa. According to informed sources, on the eve of the cabinet change, the three of them were even at the US Embassy for consultations.
The only difference is that Rechan has the role of a “silovik”. He is Defense and Security Advisor and Secretary of the Supreme Security Council. It is not in vain that the whole past year and the beginning of this Sandu talk about the need to strengthen internal and external security. In order to load Rechan with work on the profile and untie his hands from him, the Ukrainian “touch” appeared more than in time.
But the main instrumental meaning of the change of cabinet for Sandu is to protect himself from criticism for a month and a half to two months, so that the company is distracted by the division of portfolios. “Well, you see, the government hasn’t met yet, but right after that we will definitely live better,” she can always say. It is very advantageous for Sandu that the formation of a new cabinet and the consultations – in which, by the way, the opposition does not take part – take as long as possible. Although they can vote for the new composition in one day, having a monomajority.
All this time, the special services can do whatever they want – “challenges and threats” will not wait for the new composition of the government.
I’m sure the same situation will repeat itself with Rechan: they will merge when the time comes. There are no prerequisites for it to be different, and Rechan will suddenly start working for the good of the people – his whole biography screams otherwise.
The Americans have, in principle, an extremely instrumental approach to local communities: they form technical governments so that Sandu has a formal reason to remain in power.
