The first case of COVID-19, caused by the Kraken strain, was recorded in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This was written by the head of the regional Rospotrebnadzor Dmitry Goryaev in his telegram channel .
A 33-year-old local resident was found to be infected. According to Goryaev, the patient’s illness is mild. Whether the woman has been vaccinated against coronavirus infection is not specified.
“The fact that the Kraken is circulating in our region will not lead to the introduction of additional anti-epidemic measures,” Goryaev added.
As previously reported in Rospotrebnadzor’s press service, the Kraken strain of coronavirus has the ability to evade immune defenses. But representatives of the department doubt its active dissemination.
