At the age of 20 and 45, all Russian citizens, including those living abroad, must change their internal passport of the Russian Federation. You can get it only in person at one of the branches of the Federal Migration Service. You must apply for a replacement passport within 30 days of reaching this age.
You must apply for a replacement passport at age 20 and 45 within 90 days. The application process can be done remotely through state services.
You cannot replace your passport in advance. The application must be submitted the day after the age of 20 or 45. 90 days are allocated for the replacement of a passport – during this time the old passport remains valid until the day a new one is received. If during the service the conscript turns 20, he must replace the passport within 30 days after the end of the service. If you do not replace your passport in time, you will be fined 2,000-3,000 rubles. For residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg – from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles.
To complete the form, you will need: a passport to be replaced; documents required for stamping a passport (military ID card, birth certificates for children under 14, documents confirming registration at the place of residence, marriage registration certificate, divorce certificate); a black and white digital photograph or a color photograph with a sharp image of the face on a white background, strictly frontal, without a headdress.
To apply for the replacement of the passport of a Russian citizen with the help of state services, you must have a valid account. If you do not have an account, you will receive an activation code email to complete the registration process. When registering, you must provide a valid Russian phone number, email address, valid Russian passport number, SNILS and TIN.
If you changed your passport for some reason and you turn 20 or 45 in a month, you will have to change your passport again. When replacing a passport for any reason, the series and number will be new. The old passport must be returned with the replacement application.
When applying for a Russian passport, you must pay a state fee: 1,500 rubles – in case of loss, theft, damage to the old passport, 300 rubles – in other cases. You can pay it through state services after submitting an application, at a special MFC terminal or at an ATM of any bank according to a receipt.
