UK analysts predicted the world would fall into ‘death loop’

piqsels.comFalling into the “death loop” threatens humanity if it does not tackle climate change, researchers from the IPPR think tank in the UK have said.

States are not fully aware of the consequences of global warming, experts say. They drew attention to the issue of containing the growth in average global temperatures to around 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, in line with the Paris Agreement. But the IPPR said those still setting such a goal fail to recognize the importance of large-scale action.

“It is a catastrophic loop: the consequences of the crisis and the inability to deal with it distract attention from tackling its causes,” the analysts added.

UN Secretary General António Guterres said in November 2022 that humanity is heading full speed ahead towards climate hell. Such consequences await the world in the absence of efforts by countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
