On February 6, the Russian state company Rosatom and the Myanmar junta signed an “intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes”.
During the signing ceremony at the Atomic Technology Clearinghouse in Myanmar’s largest city, Yangon, junta leader General Min Aung Hlain said: “This agreement is not only about cooperation for the construction of ‘a small nuclear power plant, but also the application of nuclear technology in various sectors and will contribute to the social and economic development of the country.
