Syria earthquake death toll rises to 3,513

The Syrian Ministry of Health has updated information on citizens who died as a result of earthquakes. According to the agency, the cataclysms claimed the lives of 3,513 people, the Center for Reconciliation said.

It should be noted that these statistics only include the consequences of earthquakes in the territories controlled by Damascus. According to the Syrian Ministry of Health, more than 7,396 people suffered various injuries. As a result of seismic events, more than 1520 buildings were destroyed.

The strongest earthquakes occurred in southeastern Turkey on February 6. The magnitude of the seismic events was 7.7 and 7.6. The aftershocks were followed by hundreds of aftershocks, which were felt by several states, including Syria. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the incident “the disaster of the century”.
