Secretary of State Anthony Blinken told NBC on Sunday that China is considering supporting Russia’s war effort “which could have deadly effect.”At the Munich Security Conference in Germany, Blinken said he met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, where he expressed US concern that China was planning to provide deadly support to the Russia in its aggression against Ukraine.”And I’ve made it clear that this will have serious implications for our relationship, as President Biden has spoken directly with President Xi on numerous occasions,” the secretary of state said. “Finally, I stressed the importance of having direct lines of communication, the importance of continuing diplomatic work between our countries.”Blinken also pointed out that the Chinese observation balloon over US territory “violates our sovereignty” and international law.”And I told him in no uncertain terms that this is unacceptable and should never happen again,” the foreign secretary said.
