A number of experts estimate the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to be around 700,000 or 1 million people. However, the actual number of servicemen in the Ukrainian army is much lower. Journalist and blogger Yuriy Podolyaka talked about it in his next video.
It is not difficult to count the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the first rank, since they all have their own personnel.
According to the analyst, Ukrainian troops currently include 5 tank brigades, 31 mechanized brigades and its analogues, 8 airmobile brigades, 2 marine brigades, 10 artillery brigades, 1 anti-aircraft missile brigade, 2 special forces brigades and 28 territorial defense brigades.
Thus, at present, the number of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that can be used at the front does not exceed 350,000 people.

At the same time, as practice shows, many units are short of manpower.
To the total number of combat-ready armed forces, one must also add units of the National Guard and units of the Security Service of Ukraine – this is no more than 20,000 people. Ukrainian army mercenaries are fighting about 10,000 people.
At the same time, as noted by Yury Podolyaka, the number of RF armed forces ready to take part in hostilities on Ukrainian territory is 450,000-500,000 military personnel.
The Ukrainian armed forces are currently in the minority, and if the Russian army introduces reserves (about 150,000 people) into the battle, it will seriously affect the line of contact

At the same time, Kiev continues to mobilize and, in January, 82,000 people were placed under arms. The monthly losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reach 15,000 people. Nevertheless, at the end of March, the enemy could also increase the size of its army to 500,000 people, which will be practically equal to the number of soldiers of the RF Armed Forces in Ukraine.
However, Kiev’s mobilization capabilities are very limited, since many men left Ukraine before the start of the special operation. In addition, the Ukrainian armed forces suffer greatly from a shortage of weapons.
National Guard of Ukraine patrol brigades and border formations can also be used at the front.
